Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa. Also known as Uhuru Peak, Kilimanjaro sits at 5895 meters in East Africa. Join us for 10 days exploring this fantastic area and summiting this incredible peak via the Lemosho route.
The Lemosho routes gives us an extra day on the mountain to help acclimatise better, giving us a higher chance of summiting Kilimanjaro.
A lot of days are spent above 3000 metres, so a good level of fitness is recommended to give you the best chance of summiting.
Day 1 - Fly into Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Weru Weru River Lodge. In the evening we will meet our in-country Guide for a briefing. (We will probably get an afternoon flight the day before).
Day 2 - Day 9
These 8 days will be our trek up to the summit of Kilimanjaro. The Lemosho route is stunning and we will be trekking through some beautiful and diverse scenery; from forests to grassy moorlands, lava ridges to scree slopes.
We will be summiting on day 8. This is big day where we will start our summit ascent at midnight and will be out trekking 12-15 hours. Most other days we will be trekking for 4 - 7 hours, covering 7km to 12km.
Today we say our good bye's and fly home to the UK.
We will be holding a Training weekend on Saturday 7th to Sunday 8th November 2020. This will be a good chance to meet the rest of the group, talk about kit and our upcoming Trek.
We will meet Saturday lunch time and set up camp. Camping will be provided free of charge. We are going to simulate Summit day and get up early hours of the morning and climb Snowdon in the dark, aiming to reach the summit for sunrise on Sunday morning.
After our sunrise walk of Snowdon, we shall pack up camp and go to a local cafe for breakfast (not included).
