CLIMB SNOWDONIA
ABOUT US

Picture
Climb Snowdonia is a small, family run company based in North Wales. Our aim is to Make Adventures Accessible to Everyone.  We specialise in providing adventurous outdoor activities and adventure therapy for participants with a variety of needs.
Having worked with people with learning and physical disabilities in the outdoor environment, we never tire of the joy it brings to people who never thought they could get out and enjoy the outdoors. So whether you thought you would never get to the summit of  Snowdon, climb a rock face or overcome your fear of water, get in touch and we would love to help support you through your own challenge.
Sam and Jess have shared many an adventure together. They have been married for 10 years and during this time have had many adventures around the world. They both have a love for the outdoors and spend all their time climbing together. They are both passionate about making the outdoors accessible to everyone and their biggest adventure to date was setting up Climb Snowdonia. This means they could share their adventures with everyone, no matter who they are. All they ask is that you are up for an adventure and they will help you make memories that you will remember for a very long time.
Sam Bradshaw
Sam has been playing in the outdoors as long as he can remember. Sam came to the mountains through hill walking and camping with his Dad. He soon progressed to more challenging routes and this lead to a love of rock climbing and mountaineering. This has taken him all over the world from mountaineering in the Alps, climbing in Madagascar and trekking across Iceland. Sam still loves getting out in the hills with his Dad although the roles have reversed now.  Sam is passionate about teaching others to enjoy the mountains safely and to make it accessible to everyone and guiding them through there own journey of discovery. Sam loves to travel around the world climbing and mountaineering although he is always drawn to the mountains of Snowdonia, where he spends most of his time. So if you see him on the hill please come and say Hello.

Sam has devoted the last 12 years to building up experience and qualifications to be able to instruct and guide people in the outdoors. He currently holds the Summer and Winter Mountain Leader Award, Rock Climbing Instructor Award, MIAS Level 1, Swift Water Rescue, Paddlesport Instructor Award, Paddlesport Leader Award and Outdoor First Aid. Sam is currently working towards his Mountaineering Instructor Award.

 Jess Bradshaw
Jess loves providing fun experiences for the whole family. Having grown up with a severely autistic sister, Jess understands the challenges and rewards of supporting people with disabilities in the outdoors. Jess first discovered the outdoors by completing all three Duke of Edinburgh Awards and has always been "up for an adventure". When she first met Sam the two of them shared many a date hanging off a rock face together. Jess is an all round outdoor enthusiast, equally as happy in the mountains as she is on the water, enjoying rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking or surfing. Jess also loves travelling the world looking for an adventure but is also drawn back to Snowdonia.
As well as a degree in Outdoor Education, Jess also holds the Summer Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor Award, Paddlesport Leader Award, MIAS Level 1, Swift Water Rescue and Outdoor First Aid. Jess is also working towards her International Mountain Leader.

Our Inspiration

Some of you may be interested to know why we chose to set up a company specialising in providing outdoor activities for people with a form of disability. Well we have always enjoyed taking people out on an adventure that they didn't think was possible, but a major factor was Cerys.
Cerys is Jess' little sister and she is severely autistic. As well as being Autistic and having ADHD, Cerys also has a rare genetic condition called Phelan-McDermid Syndrome. Cerys has no language and at time can be very hard work to keep engaged. However we often take her out on adventures and she spends the whole time smiling and giggling. It is clear how much enjoyment she gets from being out trying new things. Cerys particularly enjoys rock climbing outside and canoeing (although she spends a lot of time jumping out the boat and swimming). Both Sam and Jess never tire of taking Cerys out and they both get a lot of satisfaction opening a whole new world to Cerys and anyone else who wants an adventure. This has been the driving force behind Climb Snowdonia and the reason why we truly believe anyone and everyone can have an amazing adventure with us.
